The Toolbox Revisited: Path to Degree Completion From High School Through College
This study conducted by the U.S. Department of Education has isolated key curriculum benchmarks for success in higher education. Of students who complete this rigorous curriculum, 95% receive a Bachelor’s Degree. When coupled with MCAS scores, The Toolbox Revisited sheds light on key areas of improvement for students and educators alike in an effort to improve Bachelor’s Degree attainment.
Understanding the College Choice of Disadvantaged Students
By moving beyond curriculum benchmarks, this publication identifies external factors that place students at risk for completing high school and pursuing higher education. It also recognizes steps that can be taken in and outside of school to increase the likelihood of high school graduation and a successful transition into higher education.
Enhancing Their Likelihood for a Positive Future: The Perspective of Inner-City Youth
The researchers who conducted this study found that successful youth development is about enhancing the positive, not eliminating the negative. In fact, research found that inner-city youth in all grade levels believe they are more likely to have a positive future if they receive support from recreation programs, community centers, and after-school activities.
