MathPOWER at Northeastern University
MathPOWER at Northeastern University is a non-profit
organization dedicated to the improvement of math education for urban students.
There is a growing need for advanced mathematical literacy, yet many students
in Boston are currently struggling to achieve the state's "proficiency" standards.
MathPOWER aims to prepare students to not only reach
a level of proficiency, but also to achieve competency in advanced mathematics
through a variety of programs and services. Existing MathPOWER
programs include:
- Coaching and Professional Development
- Algebra Plus Summer Camp at Northeastern University
- Out-of-School-Time Program Development
Along with these existing initiatives, MathPOWER
is working to develop and implement new intervention and advocacy programs to
serve the diverse Boston community.
